Carrie Trenholm’s fascination with glass began while watching her father create stained-glass windows. In 2000, she ventured into the fused glass process by taking a workshop from Bullseye Glass in Portland, Oregon. Her art education continued in Ravenna, Italy where she studied techniques of mosaic glass with Luciana Notturni at the Mosaic Art School. A fused glass course taught by internationally known artist Narcissus Quagliata deepened her curiosity about the possibilities in glass.
Since 2000, Carrie has exhibited her work at the Springville Museum of Art, the Harris Fine Arts Center, BYU, the St. George Art Museum, the Sears Gallery at Utah Tech in St. George, DeZion and LaFave Galleries in Springdale, in addition to the Braithwaite Gallery. Carrie was commissioned to make a chandelier and several sconces for the I/G Winery with metal sculptor Robyn Twitchell which serve as the centerpiece of the art on display here at the winery. Her most recent work was displayed at the Southern Utah Museum of Art.
We are pleased to offer this class on fused glass taught by Carrie as she teaches about method, technique and the her collected secret of making amazing works of art.
